City Experience Day 2 Summary

June 8, 2006

I woke up and once again had breakfast i had 3 bits of toast then i went and caught the bus to Croydon Station. I waited around for my mates and then we went to IGA again to get a drink. When we got back we got out names ticked off then we went on the train to Flinders Station.

Our first big group activity was going to Federation Square and going to the Ian Potter Gallery which was pretty boring and crap. That crappy tour went for 1 hour i think then we had to go to a stupid vegetarian place for lunch and the served us some vegetarian Currie which was alright i guess but made me get stomach cramps after woulds.

We then went off in our small groups and we went to the State Theatre and Some other Gallery and they were all crap because its nothing I’m interested in so yer that pretty much summed up my day.

City Experience Day 1 Summary

June 7, 2006

Well to start the day off i woke up and got breaky and started walking to the station at 8:00, when i got there i went to get my ticket and then we walked to IGA to get a drink and it was pretty bloody cold. We all got our names ticked off and went and got on the train, that's was about 9:02. The train ride was boring as anything but thank god i had my MP3 player. We had to get off at Richmond station because we had the tour of the M.C.G.

When we got there we walked around it like once then we had to go back and go to the bottom and enter there so it took us about 20 bloody minutes to find where we were suppose to go. We entered the M.C.G and then we split up into 2 groups, our tour guides name was Malcolm and he is a volunteer there and he has been a M.C.C member for 38 years. We got to go into the Richmond change rooms and look around then we went out onto the ground which sent a chill up my spine because i hope to play cricket on that ground one day, i took some grass lol and put it in my pocket. We went to the members area and had a look around at the special seating they get which is awesome and i hope one day i can become a member myself. The tour went for about 1 hour and a half and then we had to go.

We got on a tram and went of to SouthBank and had lunch which was really expensive so i didnt bother to get anything. I just had a sandwhich and a drink and some of my mates chips which they bought.

We went off to the Rialto tower which was awsome you could see everything from up there. Then we went to the G.P.O which was boring then we went to the QV centre and then we had to walk back to Flinders station to catch the train back to Croydon.

City Experience

June 7, 2006

Did you have trouble getting to the places you needed to be?

Yes some places where hard to get to.

Were the maps you had useful (did they help you find your way)?

Yes the where very useful after day 1 looking at the map I knew where we where not mater where we were in the city for the next to days.

Did you work effectively as a team?

Yes we did it was good because we all cooperated together

Which was your favourite activity?

M.C.G was my favourite by far because I love the M.C.G.

What activities would you not do again?

Ian Potter Gallery because it is so god dam boring

What were the highlights of the City Experience for you?

Working as a team to get places in your small groups was a big highlight for me.

What surprised you most about the city? Um probably all the 7/11s in every street, there’s like 10 in every street

What were the main problems you encountered?

I didn’t encounter any problems really.

If you organized the City Experience next year, what changes would you make?I would make us go to different places like I would change the Ian Potter gallery to maybe go to the Melbourne Aquarium something like that anyway.

Explain why you did or did not enjoy the City Experience as a whole.

I enjoyed city experience alot working with your mates to go places and going to places I havnt been before and its made me more confident to take public transport.
